You can achieve straight roots while roller setting, so that you don’t have to blow dry or flat iron them.
I used to try to make narrow thin sections so that my hair would dry faster, but I could never get the hair at the root to remain tight after securing the rollers. If you do not properly section your hair then roller will become loose as the next hair section is rolled- giving you puffy roots.
I finally figured out that the width of the hair section must be the width of the roller, so that the clips can rest at the full base of the scalp. This will help you to pull the roller taught and straighten the roots.
