Starting Point

Here is a recent photo from December 24th 2009. This is my starting point for the new year in 2010. Hopefully with eliminating heat from my routine and concentrating on deep conditioning it will be about mid back length soon.

My ends used to be fried when I flat ironed my hair often, but now my ends are nice and full. I had to get on with the deep conditioning and roller setting routine. It has made a huge difference in the health of my hair.

  1. I have just stared a no heat diet for my hair, will use it about once every six months until I reach my hair goal of BSL. How long was it before you saw a major change in you hair once you stopped flat ironing? Just starting my journey : ) Thank you for any advise and love you blog!

  2. Thank you for stopping by! I usually see an improvement in my hair about a month after I cut out the heat. I will deep condition every time I shampoo my hair until I feel that difference- hard to explain but when my hair is healthy it is really soft and doesn't frizz up as much. Moisture is really good for my hair so I use a moisturizing conditioner more often than a protein based conditioner.
